Freshman year of college (I went to FSU from 89 to 93) I met a guy named Tim Kimball. One fine afternoon we were watching MTV and that Material Girl video was playing. At the end of this video, the hero picks up Madonna in an old 1955 Ford F100 that he buys from some farmer right there on the spot and they drive off into the sunset.
So my friend Tim, who was known for making dramatic and gregarious proclaimations from time to time announced that he intended to buy a sporty (this was a well used Tim word) old truck like that and fix it up.
So, for some reason this stuck in my subconscious mind. A year later I began buying Old Car Trader newspapers and cruising the back roads in search of this odd destiny. In 1992 I finally found it.
